As a Fly-fishing guide for close to 30 years, I probably used every wading staff out there. I started with a ski pole and graduated to the collapsible type from various manufacturers. I've also used numerous wood staffs. My main river was the Pit which requires a dependable wading staff as many of you will know if you fish in our Northern CA waters. The only wading staff I and my clients use is Ron Hart's River Stalker. You will have a nice grip and a dependable staff that won't fail you when it counts.

I started using Ron Hart's River Stalker after a day on the water with Ron Hart himself. I had used other "name brand" wading staff models in the past, but many had failed. I am pretty hard on gear and prefer to fish in rugged places. Previous staffs just didn't make the cut as they were flimsy, noisy, or unwieldy. The River Stalker has proven to be reliable and truly increases access to more river. I am happy to report that my original River Stalker is still going strong after 9 years of abuse and there's never an outing where it is not at my side.
No-fall accss to my favorite steam of wild rainbows, thanks to my River Stalker.
On the way to my secret spot--safely-- on rugged shale.
Fish are biting, no time for the barber!
One more chrome steelhead, it was a good day.
My personal best, thanks to my Stalker.
Easy wade to reach another nice one.
